What punishment a driver faces for such violation

In the Russian Federation, going through a red light may result in a fine or deprivation of the driver’s license. If it is your first violation, you will have to pay 1000 RUB. For those who systematically neglect the rules, more severe punishment is provided: increase of penalty up to 5,000 RUB. Persistent violators are deprived of the right to drive for a period of 4 to 6 months. Each case is considered individually.

It should be kept in mind that crossing a stop line at a red light is equal to the passage. In this case, the fine will constitute the same sum. You should not take it easy even if there is no traffic police nearby. Today, in large cities, CCTV cameras are installed everywhere. They record violations and cars’ plates. Their owners will certainly receive tickets.

Fines for running red light across the world

In the United States, the amount of penalties varies due to the regulation of traffic rules by numerous authorities. Geographical location has a particular influence on the size of the ticket. In one state, you will have to pay $50, while in another - $75.

Germany has an 8-point control system. For each violation, a driver receives one or more points, which are automatically deducted after a certain time. If the limit is reached, they take away a driver’s license. Going through a red light in Germany will cost you 90 euros. IIf you created a dangerous situation, the amount increases to 240 euros. Cases are heard in court individually, where a decision on depriving a driver’s license can be made.

There is a similar system in China but it has 12-point. Running a red light costs 6 points and a fine of about $30. Having received all 12 points, the driver is completely deprived of the driver’s license.

There is no point system in Finland. But here fines are considered to be one of the highest. They directly linked with the monthly income of the lawbreaker. An ordinary person will have to pay more than 64 dollars.

The point system works in France, too. Those who ignore the priority signs, do not stop at red or do not observe the necessary distance, are charged with fines ranging from 135 to 750 euros. For such a violation, four points are recorded. It is important to pay off the debt in time. Otherwise, the initial amount will increase by another 135-375 euros.

The point system is also supported by the government of Japan. This country has really high fines. Going through a red light will cost a trespasser at least $450. Points are determined by the complexity of the violations. For non-compliance with the road regulation rules, 3 points are provided. Points are canceled after three years.

In Spain, the ball regime has own characteristics. The driver receives a certain amount of them, and the number of points awarded depends on the driving experience. If you violate the rules, points are deducted. The more experience the driver is, the higher the fine he or she receives. It is recommended to immediately pay off the ticket, which will get you a discount of 50%. Delay, in contrast, increases the liability. The penalty for ignoring a traffic light is 150-600 euros.

In Italy, a driver’s license is valid as long as there are points in the driver’s account. Their maximum number is 30. Having lost 20 points per year, you will be deprived of the ability to drive for 12 months. The fine for driving through a red light is similar to Spain’s one.

A red-light camera is used today in almost all countries. This tool allows you to fairly punish the violators. Fine does not depend on the method by which the non-fulfillment of traffic rules is detected. The rules are changed annually, but their general principle is preserved.
